Taking a cue from 343i and Halo 5, Titanfall 2 developers recently stated that all DLC and maps for Titanfall 2 will be completely free. Speaking with Gamesrader, Titanfall 2 Devs Vince Zampella and Drew McCoy stated that they did not want to splinter the community and they wanted to give players the best experience for the best price.
This is obviously great news. With so many FPS games selling map packs, modes, and other content it's good to see more and more AAA titles move away from that business model. Selling maps fractures the community which affects matchmaking and it can also get pretty expensive, especially when you factor in the initial price of the game itself. So big up to EA and Titanfall 2. Look for Titanfall 2 when it drops this fall.
