Far and away the biggest megaton to hit E3 was Microsoft's announcement of a new console coming Holiday 2017. The console, tentatively titled "Project Scorpio", was touted by Xbox Head Phil Spencer as the most powerful console ever created and capable of 4K gaming and rendering at 60hz. The console will possess six teraflops of computing capability.
Spencer also stated that Scorpio would be fully backward compatible and that all Xbox One and Windows 10 games and peripherals would be fully functional with the new console. There are a lot of concerns from the gaming community including costs, but there is also a lot of enthusiasm. I'm certain we'll be hearing a lot more about Project Scorpio in the coming weeks and months.
